Thursday morning at 'the original bass bagging site'.

The food Curmudgeon has done a post on Easter eggs - HERE.

I read most of it some of it a little bit of it but, frankly, it was a bit of an overload. Some The Curmudgeon Inc. posts are like that - too long winded. Also, have you ever wondered why, with all those Curmudgeons, we have never experienced the occasion when two (or more) posts were written at the same time?

Well, it's because they spend most of their time playing cards and sleeping. The Curmudgeon Inc. is past the use by date.

The birds have joined the wasps who are feeding on our grapes. All the windows at the back of our house are shut to keep the wasps out. The birds seem to be very careful and check the vine from a distance before they fly into it. It seems that wasps are less likely to sting when they are grazing.

It is so nice to be home today. Last spell yesterday I had a year 10 music class that was full of untrained boys. It reminded me of how lucky I am to be able to avoid working on certain days. I use the word untrained because it best describes these boys. They seem to see every situation as an opportunity to make noise and do exactly what they want. They have no regard for the rights or needs of others. They live at the centre of their universe and never seem to be aware that their self centered behaviour might be inappropriate or a pain in the arse to others. They don't seem to care.
I'm pretty convinced that this sort of behaviour comes down to ineffective parenting or, at least, that what they are taught at home isn't helping them to fit successfully into society.
Though I guess that society changes. Maybe certain values are no longer held by a large portion of society? Maybe I'm turning into an old curmudgeon?*
We often seem to drive past Salvation Army stores where there is a big sign saying something like, "Please do not drop off items. We collect." There is usually a big pile of shit, like an old fridge or TV, broken furniture and items of clothing, outside the store. It's the same story at our local recycling station.
To me, these sights are a message that a lot of people don't give a shit. Maybe the attitudes and actions of some of our world leaders sets the benchmark for the way some people behave?

Well, that's it from me for this morning. I'll get some Italian done and then some practice.
The Batmobile is presently with our mechanic getting a very expensive warrant done. Maybe I should be grateful to those untrained boys for getting me plenty of work so that I can afford to fix my car?

* I could get a blogging job you know where as the string instrument Curmudgeon!

Well excuse me for being picky but isn't it a teacher's role to train people.

Teacher = person who teaches. To teach = to train.

I interrupted the card game for a vote and The Curmudgeons Inc. are unanimous in saying "No thanks".

We are suspicious of a teacher who doesn't teach.

Two, no three now, comments is a good start.

"Teacher = person who teaches."
Actually social behaviour is best modelled. You can't 'make' someone be 'good'. Students sometimes say, of a teacher, "He can't control us." The reality is that these students have no self control and you can scare and threaten them, but you can't make them act better. Only they can do that. Some parents don't model good self control and you can often see this when you meet them (though this is not alway true). Some parents think that bad behavious by their offspring is funny. An attitude like that really helps! I spent 40 years dealing with out of control (untrained) children and, frankly, I'm over them. A relief teacher is really a baby sitter. That's fine by me.

Thank you Mr Peter Gogie.

Peter Gogie? A new curmudgeon?

Just did the online test and it appears that I don't have Asperger's. Maybe Peter Gogie does?

THE CURMUDGEON ha detto...

Yeah. I just did that and got a score of 18 - below borderline.

I just think that I don't like people. I wonder if there's a Curmudgeon test?
