Have bass, will travel.

I'm returning to Newtown next Sunday evening to play a few contrabbasso solos at the open mic evening at The Office bar. I've neglected poor old La Gloria a bit lately and thought that a challenge like this could put things right - six days of fairly intensive practice.
I've chosen three pieces:
  • Maria, Mari - an Italian tune that I've performed before.
  • Bye bye Blackbird - this is a new 'arrangement' in a different key.
  • Gigue from Bach's first cello suite with 'My Gentle Giant' inserted in the middle - this is the first time I will play the Bach in public.
This is a pretty demanding programme. I'll need a glass of Chardonnay, or two, after this one - but first the practice.

Don't worry about neglecting Gloria or Bob. They are in my dreams most nights and I'm convinced they are looking at us from somewhere with love!

So where are those other comments?

Anyway, some of us take retirement seriously.
My time is spent in playing golf, tennis, bowls and walking, kayaking and swimming. I don't fiddle about with a double bass and will post as time permits.

So, The Curmudgeon Inc is a sort of part time thing?
