Blogging hit by crisis!

While most bloggers have been fairly busy posting, there has been a very noticeable drop off in comments left on these blogs.

Even the ever popular Richard's Bass Bag* has reported a slight drop.

Richard (of RBB), who is an ever popular blogger, suggested that the problem could be fixed if each blogger left a comment on each of the other 'popular' blogs.

Nothing to say? Here are some examples of fairly unspecific comments that wouldn't take long to leave. It could mean a lot to that blogger who is struggling to get one comment.

  • "Not too bad."
  • "You have some 'interesting' ideas"
  • "Do you have other hobbies?"
  • "I reckon you'd be great at running a fish n chips shop!"
  • "I have a lot of friends who are Presbyterians."
  • "Transubstantiation sounds like train station."
  • "Does your double bass float?"
  • "This could make a series!"
  • "No, I like reading about drain laying."
  • "My aunty used to say that the big bands are coming back."
  • "Heaven? Remember that Mr. Linford is already there."
  • "Anyway, who, these days, cares about intonation?"
  • "Please don't turn this into a series."

Please feel free to use any of the above examples but please get out there and leave comments!

  1. Mm ... uninteresting.

You do realise don't you that an anagram for 'popular blogger' is 'poor old bugler' don't you? it's apt really as you do blow your own trumpet.

  2. A bugle is not a trumpet. Do I need to explain why?

    RispondiElimina
  3. Okay. Trumpets have three valves. These pass the air around little different lengths of piping that make it possible to play chromatically. A bugle can only play the harmonic series - Bb F Bb D F Bb.

  13. We don't like jokes like that in Heaven. They upset Brother Benedict. Can you tone it down?

  15. Jokes like that last one are why TC's blog is so popular!

Hang on, it seems he has only got one reader at the moment.

  16. Never mind. Your blog will be closed down soon as the new Government-appointed regulator has been designed primarily to rein in harmful content on social media platforms, such as Facebook, but professional news media organisations would also come under its auspices including blogging sites.

I mean, why wouldn't they? All they need to do is apply standards of taste and decency to close you down. Personally I'd add in standards of interest, frequency and consistency as well. As per Robert's blog he'll fail on the standards of reason, comprehensibility and readability with of course grammar being a measure.

If you don't believe me have a look at this:

  18. "Congratulations, but how about a post?" would have been better.

  19. Silly me. I came here looking for a new post.
I might have well been looking for El Dorado.

  20. I really need to lower my expectations. I'm off to check on Robert's blog.
