A quick post for Tuesday.

 Welcome to March.

I spent yesterday, among other things, practising the Locrian #2 scale. I was practising it over Em7b5 - I like to use it as the ascending form of G melodic minor. That means I start on G and not E - that tends to make me play more interesting notes. I think it's a magical sound and I've really been looking for it for 40 years. I always knew about the Locrian #2 scale but used to avoid the #2 and just play the Locrian. Now I'm converted.

I'm off work today, as I was yesterday. I've just got a few things to sort out. I really need to squeeze in some contrabbasso practice today. After all, this year I plan to play my bass solos (with a band) but my bass practice is way down.

It was interesting to hear the latest news on The Curmudgeon's gardening venture. The Curmudgeon is still pushing on with his gardening series.

Here's a joke to cheer you up.

Ciao tutti.

The perfect 5th, in nature, is actually not that perfect. It's a long story and I'm not going to write it up here. The augmented 4th was misunderstood by idiots hundreds of years ago and badly named - another long story. Actually, the intervalus diobolicus (I hope my Latin is okay, I never made it into 3P) is a very special sound. I'm looking forward to going to Hell.

Actually, the perfect fifth was created by men.

No surprises there.

"As Trent Horn might say "That's called an argument from silence".Probably better to just believe that God created the universe and inspired the Bible. It's up to you Heaven or Hell?."
