I guess this'll mean that speeding trucks can go even faster when Transmission Gully changes to a limit of 110kph. The speed limit for trucks and trailers is supposed to be 90kph. Trucks are already speeding by at 100k. Let's not even mention those big jeep things.

Not satisfied with having 5000 people a year die from smoking they now want to kill more people on the roads. They are a pack of shits ignoring the most vulnerable in society and pandering to those who voted them in.

Our Whangarei region completed the public consultation process some time ago and enacted the new speed limits which are rolling out now with new signage. I don't believe this will be repealed but it doesn't stop all the speed freaks and conspiracy theorists from having a big moan about it and threatening vandalism and cicil disobedience. It's going to be an interesting summer. I for one am pleased at the new regulations and frankly am looking forward to driving at the new, lower speeds and having some dickheads getting frustrated behind me.
