Sunday Morning.

I'm up. Have read Robert's post. Sitting at the computer with a coffee. The heater is on. It's dark but birds are chirping outside.

Peter made it to Cuba Street safely. Both he and Lynn have gone off the apartment and may move to Moera. Time to think about my 'gig'.

Okay, it's not really a gig. I'm playing two tunes at what they call an 'open mic' concert. That means that anyone can get up and play a couple of tunes. They don't actually supply a microphone, but the room is not large. It's a place you can go to play if you don't get many gigs. Hey, it makes for a bit of a change to the day. We (Shelley and I) will stay in a motel in Newtown, just by where Peter got a ticket for driving in a bus lane, and walk to the 'gig' which starts at 5.15pm. Most performers are singer guitarists. We normally get to the motel (yes, we've done it before) not long after 2pm. We might even walk up to the New World supermarket. There are quite a lot of homeless people in Newtown and some of them are quite confrontational. They like to hang out near the supermarket. Last time I was there I pretended that I only speak Italian. "Mi dispiace, ma parlo sultanto l'Italiano. I ees not spek engleesh." Hey, it gets them off your back.

Obviously I'll do some violin playing before we head off. Slow practice will be included for those little troublesome bits in the pieces I will play. Yes, my tunes will be Romance and the OBS. [toilet break]

[job done*] It is light outside now but it's windy and the sky is very grey. I went to the letterbox and got Shelley's Sunday paper for her. That'll keep her busy for a while. Later in the morning I'll take that paper over to our elderly neighbour, as is the Sunday tradition.

Well, that's about it from me. Don't forget Rob's advice...

"Have fun and be thankful for all the good things God gives (he only gives good things; the rest is your, or somebody else's, fault!)." I added the possessive apostrophe that he missed. I also changed 'you' to 'your' and added a couple of commas. In this case Robert was correct - the grammar mistakes were not made by God.

Ciao tutti.

* Remember, the job's not over until the paperwork's done.

Drive carefully and watch out for those bloody bus lane cameras.
It's such a wild day I think I'll stay indoors today.
The wind was so strong during the night I could feel this building moving.

I can see a Pohutukawa tree moving slightly. A seagull hangs as if suspended in the air. Mottled grey clouds suggest movement as if rolling. The heat pump is on 26C circulating clean dry air through the open doors of this three bedroom house. The television has a large white exclamation mark. "You've been kicked" and in smaller letters "You have been disconnected due to inactivity". under it is an X OK. Under that is "Press Any Button to Rule the Seas".

OK, noted. You write like English is your second language though.

I trust the non- gig went well.
Sorry to have not caught up today as I was feeling a bit faint.

No probs. I know that feeling. Hope you're feeling better.

Open mic done. Small turn out. I won't be racing back for the next one. Some nice people though.

I hope you are feeling better, Peter. Please give yourself time to recover. Thinking of you.

I read Rob's post. Mostly about God. Big surprise. Yawn.

It's just after 7am and we're heading home real soon.

Wainuiomata, here we come.

Oops, I forgot that Rob also went on about the local elections. He didn't bother to vote. The voting papers do come with a little booklet that tells you about the candidates. Maybe Rob finds the grammar hard?
