Peter is settling in.

Settling into life in Wellington. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to be wearing his raccoon hat, but he is having trouble with Wellington pedestrians and cyclists.

Actually, I agree with him about pedestrians and cyclists. Often, when I'm driving towards a pedestrian crossing, there'll be someone walking along the footpath and they look like they're going straight ahead. Then, at the last minute, they turn and step out onto the crossing, with no warning. They really need to give a sign of their intention to cross and to wait a second to make sure that cars are going to stop. That's just common sense. Cyclists? Don't start me on those!

Cycle tracks are replacing car parks in Wellington. Why can't they divide the footpath in half, with a fence in the middle? Ah, yes, the cyclists would prefer to tear along on the pedestrian side.

Anyway, I've got to go to work.

I'm taking my (cheap) travel violin. Actually, I'm rather enjoying playing it. Hey, it has got Evah Pirazzi strings on it!

I'd better go.

Ciao.

How did God the Father and God the Son become father and son? Hey, and what is the Holy Ghost's link to them?
I've heard it said, "Three people in one God."
Why is the Holy Ghost presented as a bird?

Because the holy spirit appeared as a dove when Jesus was baptized. It might have said 'like a dove', cant remember exactly. The holy spirit is also the spouse of Mary. I suppose it's nice to describe a relationship we can identify with. Calling them I Am Who AM 1, 2 and 3 would get confusing too.

"Like a dive?" or, "I'd like a dive" would make more sense for what the Holy Spirit said at Jesus's baptism.

But, but, but, God the Son was going strong long before all that Mary and immaculate conception nonsense. The three parts of the one god, two blokes and a bird, had always been there - for eternity. How do two blokes who have always been there become father and son? Calling them brothers would have been slightly more accurate. Hey, Jesus could have been called Benedict. God the Father could have been called Leon - Brother Leon, Brother Benedict and the bird. That works for me!

That works for you? Oh! I thought that you didn't like it.

The old disappearing comments function is at work I see.

Richard (of RBB) ha detto...

I don't delete comments.

THE CURMUDGEON ha detto...

I didn't say you did but for some reason the settings delete comments I make. It happens on Robert's blog as well.

I've wasted the last three hours setting up an Apple Watch I bought.
Technology can be very frustrating.
To get it to go I had to update the iOS on the phone which took ages.
I've never wanted an Apple Watch but my sister the GP said I should get one as it measures heart rate, AF and has an ECG function. It's also handy for medical emergencies.
I wonder if it detects Immaculate Conception?

Yes, probably.
