Big Arse.

Oops, sorry, I meant to say, "Big cars."

I read Peter's latest post and agree with his sentiment.

"Having a carpark in a parking garage beneath the apartment block we are living in I'm reminded again how large modern cars are - unnecessarily so."

Frankly, I have always thought that Noddy had the right idea

and I've followed his example.

My Nissan Note does basically everything you need a car to do. Hey, no problem putting a double bass in it.

These days most people drive their car like it is some sort of contest. As many of you know, you drive over a hill to get out of Wainuiomata. Most drivers treat it like a racetrack. As I drive to the bottom of the hill, at 50kph, I can see them lining up behind me. Once the two lanes of the hill road appear, they're off. Zoom, zoom, zoom. The next time I see them is in a queue, at the other end of the hill, waiting for the traffic lights to change. They are a few cars ahead of me. It must be depressing being caught up to by a slow driver like me.
Most truck drivers seem to be in a big hurry too and don't seem to care that the speed limit for trucks is 90kph. This is basically because trucks take longer to stop. The rule is there to save lives.

I really need to get some quality practice done today. In twenty days I will be playing at a Christmas Eve dinner. I'm just going to play my 10 unaccompanied violin pieces, obviously with no backing tracks. It'll be a bit of a test. I'm sure that not everybody present will like my tunes. "Why can't he play some Neil Diamond?" "We need some Christmas music!" "I don't know these tunes." "I'll suggest to him, after he finishes, that he should learn some Ed Sheeran tunes. That's the stuff that people like to hear."

Well, they are getting me for free AND they asked me to play, knowing what I play.

That's it for this morning.

Ciao tutti.

'A' has only been 440hz since 1939! It doesn't have to be and often wasn't.

My Nissan was built in 2015. A little after 1939.
