Caprice 24 Update.

Okay, May was a write off month for me, due to a family death and then getting Covid, and I still haven't got my practice firing along like I did in April.

I've got the first four variations working pretty well, along with the tune (the easiest part).

Today I'm going to talk about Variation 1.

Remember, what follows is not the finished product but just showing where I've got to - I've left the bouncy bowings out. Probably the hardest part is the diminished run at bar 8 (bar 12, if you count the repeat). I assure you that it does get easier as you practise it - over and over again.

I just did a few takes in the end because my energy levels are still down quite a bit. Okay, there are a few little intonation issues as the second half begins. Hey, but I said I'd post something. Sorry, you actually can't see my fingerings either.

I'm very tired now so I'm off to cook dinner and have a Cleanskin.

Thank heavens for good wine!

Now I know how Arthur 'two sheds' Jackson must have felt.

I'd slap you for nothing if that's helpful.*

* A comment I put on Robert's latest post which Google, as usual, refused to publish.

I don't believe that. The nuns didn't know how to control their aggression. Violence is NEVER the answer. Those nuns were sick women.
