Great posts don't just grow on trees.

The Curmudgeon has been pestering me to write another great post.

Old misery guts.

One of his posts.

Hey, I have a busy day planned. There is practice to be done but I also intend to start tidying up the back of our section. This is an ongoing job because some imbecile, who used to live behind us, planted ivy along his fence line. Now it has taken over everything near it. Today will just be the start of a long journey.

On a happier note, I found out yesterday that my grandchild will, in fact, be my grandson. Don't get me wrong, I would have been equally as happy with a granddaughter. It's just kind of nice to know what to get ready for.

I had a play with my trio, I Ragazzi Sperduti, yesterday. I thought we sounded great. At present I've given up on trying to get gigs, but that doesn't mean I'm not practising. Just like Robin Hood kept his arrows ready, I keep my instruments played. Armistice Day is approaching, so I am also practising my trumpet. I don't want to be caught with unfit lips. This day happens on the 11th of November - four days away, but I've heard nothing from the RSA people. Maybe I've been replaced? That would be a kick in the teeth because I've supported them for a very long time. I think they take The Last Post for granted. Though, before I took on the job, they were using a recording. Hey, that's just not cricket! Anyway, time will tell.

Well, I'll have to leave you there. No need for thanks TC.

Ciao tutti.

If you had fit lips they could block that kick in the teeth that’s imminent.

Was Ivy that ex neighbour’s wife?
Maybe you should report it.

I would have expected more comments by now.

Faith that people will leave comments on my blog was probably infused in me at birth. Though I didn't know I'd have a leading blog back then. I hope my readers aren't getting distracted by other things. Without commenting on my blog there is darkness.
Don't worry, I'll keep blogging through the darkness.

Well, the comments are building up. That's good.

How's the lip training going Pucker Boy?

Richard (of RBB) ha detto...

Okay I'll explain. Trumpet playing comes from the lungs and the lips initially. The lips and surrounding muscles are known as the embouchure. If the embouchure is not 'trained up' your endurance will be short lived. Think of a rugby player who doesn't train and isn't fit. If you are playing the trumpet, all the faith in the world is like pissing into the wind.

Robert will no doubt agree.

I wasn't talking about Anzac day. Please read for meaning.

Asking a Catholic to read something carefully before making a statement is stretching it a bit.
