Robert, who sometimes doesn't really read your post but leaves a comment, asked a question about one of my bows in a picture of my violin case.

As you can see, I didn't really answer his question, so here goes:
The bow is actually not hanging by the hair but is being supported in three places.
1)

| In the middle the bow sits on a soft support. |

| At the point the bow goes into a place that supports it both underneath and from the sides. |

| At the nut the bow is well supported too. |
That 'lever' that seems to be touching the hair simple stops the bow from falling sideways.
I hope that Robert sleeps better tonight knowing that.

Well, she's wrong. Words evolve and there are often different schools of spelling. Think memorise and memorize. There's a whole story behind that
Anyway, I've seen so much bad grammar from schoolteachers online that I wouldn't take anything they say for granted.
I've always known it as doodacky.

You make as much sense in Italian as you often do in English.
Consistency might be a virtue though.
