Okay, it doesn't seem as though TC* really understands music practice. He gives a quote from Robert the awful lot of different things in a comment that he left on his blog. (He actually left three comments. Pity he doesn't put the same enthusiasm into kitchen renovations.)
"I laid on the couch with my electric violin chatting with Sue and studied it."
Okay, there's always room to work on that grammar, but Rob illustrates an important concept.
Practice is different than performance.
Practice is about examining, repetition, thinking and experimenting.
Performance is about thinking very little and feeling the music.
This photo shows something about performance that makes a HUGE difference.
Robert is smiling - he looks like he is enjoying the process. This 'happiness' rubs off on the audience.
This is something that I need to practise.
Well done Rob!

I'm concerned at the prospect of you rubbing yourself off on the audience.
Take care. We don't want to read about you in the papers.
And you stay away from Mrs. Palmer and her five daughters!
Jeez - talking of rough things.
Well, you did well.
Rob, I mean.
OK - moving on - good news for readers in the blog community. Now that The Old Girl has gone to Sydney I'll be reclaiming the study this week. Already The Polemical Curmudgeon, The Philosophical Curmudgeon,The Mundane Curmudgeon and The Darker Curmudgeon are making noises (not off) about wanting to publish posts.
Fantastic news TC!
Though what is happening with the kitchen renovation?
I'm asking this for your own protection.
When she returns she won't give tuppence for how many posts you've written. Just a friendly warning.

I thought that Robert was the one with reading and comprehension difficulties.
Look, you know me, I'm not going to reprint your comments or republish old pos .... (Boss! Psst! You do do that - just saying - the Pedantic Curmudgeon (title pending)) ... er, but rest assured I did say that The Old Girl is away for 10 days in Sydney which gives me a chance to temporally take over the study, load the dishwasher the way I want to, fart in bed and, you know, do bloke's things. I also said that The Old Girl is going to Christchurch for 3 months at the end of April which is when kitchen activities may or may not take place. sheesh!
