Potter was up early to check the blogs. He could hear The One in a Skirt hard at work in the office, so he stayed in the kitchen and tried to use his tablet. His tablet opened to a picture of God saying to Moses, "Don't forget to take the tablets." This always made Potter smile. His tablet wasn't user friendly and the comment he made had to be done using The Beer Chap.
Today he needed to focus on one thing - croquet.
For those readers who are new to croquet, here's how it works.
Today was a big day because Potter was set to go all out against a self-confident idiot named Mark. Mark was always there ahead of Potter and always yelled out a sarcastic comment when he arrived. Today Potter intended to teach him a thing or two about croquet.
That's mark about to shoot and Potter in the white cap. |
They played to an audience of two. Potter thought of his friend Terry who attracted much more people when he played his pipes.
It was a close game, but Mark managed to hold on to a small lead. Potter said, "Shoosh!" as Mark took his final shot and, like a schoolboy, jumped into the air to mark his victory. Other croquet people clapped him. Potter was not one of those people. Mark offered to buy Potter a beer, but he made up an excuse about having to go to the supermarket.
"I'm sure I saw Betty shopping this morning." Mark said.
"No, she was still in the office when I left to come here." Potter countered.
Mark wasn't really interested. He just couldn't wait to get to the club house to tell everybody who would listen about his victory.
Potter changed back into his regular clothes and headed for home.
"This guy'll keep." he thought.

Ha, ha! I was up in Whangarei a little while back. I went to a local tennis club and there was a guy not unlike Potter. Life is full of coincidences. Oh, there I go again. Too much thinking!

What was his name? I know someone up there.
Bernard Fife.
Phillip Edward Nis
No, not the same guy.
That's right Robert - It'll never catch on, unlike your latest post which has lifted the standing of your blog to - well, to at least second in this blogging community. Well done (or was that medium?)!
"What was his name? I know someone up there."
His name is probably Paul Leonard Onker.
No need to say it twice old man.
Well, it was an extra comment. I'll be catching Robert up.
And up.
And beyond.
Well done Rochard (of RBB). You're a hard act to follow!
Bin Hire
Yes, Rochard will be a hard act to follow, using that alias.
