Okay, yesterday took a different direction than I expected it to go in - no leisurely walk down Cuba Street, that's for damn sure.
Shelley was heading off to work when she discovered that her car was absolutely dead.
Shelley's car. |
Our drive has three regular cars.
The white car is Steph's and the car in third place, known as The Batmobile, is mine. |
Yesterday, Steph had left her car on the road and mine was in first position. Shelley's blue car was behind me. Shelley now wanted to take my car to work. This meant that I had to roll her car down to the edge of the road. I backed mine out for her. She headed off and I called the AA.
The AA guy arrived in just over an hour and had the car started very quickly. When he started it, the lights came on - Shelley must have bumped the lever as she got out of the car the evening before. It was still light at the time, so she didn't need the lights. The AA guy told me to take the car for a 30 minute drive, which I did. While I was out I bought a charger.
I said to the guy in the shop, "What's the charge." He gave me a complicated technical reply.
I replied, "No, how much does it cost?"
He replied, "$220."
Actually, he was very helpful. I just couldn't resist a 'charging' joke.

I had to read the instructions carefully before I used it but, fortunately, the guy in the shop had given me some useful information.
Thanks to the AA and the guy in Repco.
Ciao tutti.

Now that's the sort of posts we like. If we had an award we'd give it it to you 'no charge' - The Curmudgeons Inc.
Thanks Rob.
You make me feel like a Curmudgeon. Shoosh!
